The other contenders were Shahrukh Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Chak De Girls, Himesh Reshamyya.. Rajnikanth won this award and recived the award from the honorable Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh!! Mr.Rajnikanth made the whole of TamilNadu proud by receiving this award..
He said that it was happy to see Tamil films being recognized all over the world..
